Kayaking Basics at JIJ 2013

Kayaking begins with learning the essentials of water survival. Participants are required to wear individual life jackets(BA) to ensure their safety at all times during kayaking.

Amateur kayaking is done by pairs of two participants per kayak to form a bond between themselves.

The photo above portrays the essential need of kayaking as these "state of the art" life jackets are given to each participant to meet safety requirements.

The weather plays a crucial role in maximizing the enjoyment of kayaking. The perfect weather ensured all participants extreme enjoyment.

As participants embark on their kayaks,a dedicated supervisor keeps an eye on all participants. The supervisor is seen in a one man kayak.

Participants of other activities such as rafting are seen near the kayaking waters. Kayak-ers are required to keep their distance from rafters to avoid collision.

Participants of the same kayak must have high understanding of navigating and controlling the speed of their kayak.

These three participants in the photo above have just finished kayaking and are seen with all smiles as the experience was enjoyable.

Participants can be seen threading in the water to familiarize themselves with the lake water to get used to the water temperature. Doing so prevents participants from facing temperature shock if they were to overturn when kayaking.

The lake is required to be sufficiently wide to prevent the constant collision of kayakers during their ride. Insufficient space might result in the overturning of kayaks and puts the participants at great risks.

The photo above portrays the members that contributed to the creation of this blog. This photo has exception of two participants, the photographer and his assistant, who too,are members of the group.
